Jade Race Results

The Jade Race Results program enables the fast creation of sailboat race results in web friendly format. It is intended for handicap racing, can deal with multiple handicaps and maintains the handicap history of each individual boat. It can also be used for level rating classes by the simple expedient of allocating the same handicap to all boats. It automates the production of the various forms such as class sheets required for race management and implements user defined variations of the low points scoring system.

The Royal Southampton Yacht Club in England has been using the program continuosly since 2002, during which time it has amassed more than 20,000 results for over 1000 boats. To see examples of results, click the Results and Reports link on the RSYC racing website.

The program is free to download for evaluation purposes. Download the latest version, build 27b dated 05-Nov-2009.

After downloading, unzip the file and run Setup.exe to install the race results program. By default, the installation root folder is C:\Program Files\Race Results. If there is a message about an error in registering a file, press Ignore.

To start Jade Race Results, click Start, point to Programs, locate Jade Race Results then click on Results. The Jade Race Results main form appears.

To get further information about a particular control, hover the mouse over it and help text will appear.

To display Help for any form, Press F1. The Getting started topic in the Introduction to Jade Results describes the steps to be taken before creating results.

To help the evaluation of the program, the installed database is populated with several boats entered in one series of six races and there are results for the first two races.
